Healthcare simply isn\u2019t working for many queer and trans people. Not only does Script<\/em> promise to be timely and relevant for people of all ages. It also aims to reflect the complexity of how factors such as race, class, citizenship status and disability affect the ways people move through the world and the impacts this has on health outcomes.
Exclusive research commissioned by Pink Triangle Press, Xtra\u2019s<\/em> parent company, shows that, on average, we experience anxiety and depression roughly 50 percent more than non-queer people. When broken down by our various identities, the research finds that overall health outcomes are much worse for some of us. Trans, intersex, asexual, questioning and pansexual people fare especially poorly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That research, alongside years worth of input from Xtra<\/em> readers, were the driving forces behind Script,<\/em> a new, one-stop destination for credible and accessible LGBTQ2S+ health information. Script<\/em> is published in both English and French.
Script<\/em>\u2019s website officially launched<\/a> this morning along with social media accounts on Bluesky<\/a>, Instagram<\/a>, TikTok<\/a> and YouTube<\/a>. We\u2019ve also started signup for Script<\/em>\u2019s three newsletters<\/a>, which will launch in January.

Since I joined Pink Triangle Press three years ago, readers have repeatedly emailed and communicated clearly in reader surveys that there is a need for more resource-based health information for queer and trans people. That feedback created our guiding principles and helped us decide that we could better fill the void by dedicating an entire product to health.
The launch of Script<\/em> means the majority of health-related stories will be published on our new website instead of here on Xtra<\/em>. Ziya Jones<\/a>, formerly Xtra<\/em>\u2019s senior editor, health, is moving full-time to Scrip<\/em>t as managing editor. That means you\u2019ll still be in the same compassionate and trustworthy hands you\u2019ve come to love.
