I have these signs in the Etsy shop.
I think they’re cute. I made them one day when I was bored at the shop. They were fun.
I listed them to see what would happen.
And guess what?
I’ve sold a few. And…
I got a custom order.
Kind of a big one… several signs for a consignment shop.
Yay!
Or so I thought.
Here’s what I learned:
I don’t like to make signs.
I like to make signs but I don’t have the patience to make signs.
I can not sit still to save my life!
In all honesty these really were fun to make.
In all honesty I really can’t sit still.
These signs… they’ve taught me patience. They are teaching me to slow down. When you have to really focus on what you are doing it’s amazing how your mind clears. You HAVE to sit still to do this. It’s been good for me. I think maybe it could be good for you too.
That’s why I’m including this little tutorial… to change your life! 😉

Decide on your word or phrase and print it in your favorite large font. (Make sure you are following all rules and regulations for use of the font you choose).

Find yourself a nice crusty, chippy board (new will also do) and cut it to desired length (or have your husband do it for you, like me 😉

I ended up tracing over my “etched” letters with a pencil so I could see them without straining myself! (This technique worked better on the dark painted boards, but still worked okay with the white.)
Now, go.
Make your own signs! It will make you a better person!
But if you really just can’t… Come see me here. I’ll take care of you (and me too)! 🙂
I am so impressed by you…
You are too kind.
